Wait, let’s back up . . . Why do you need to know your homeschooling type?

Well, you don’t need to know it, but let me tell you it definitely helps. There are so many options out there and so many people telling you what you should be doing, it can make the whole process feel daunting. And that’s where we come in. All of us at Homeschool Tribe want you to be successful in your homeschool. And we want you to feel confident in your decisions that you’re making for your family. (Notice what I said there? Your homeschool. Your decisions. Your family. Yep . . . yours. You, your partner, and your children.) It can be easy to be overwhelmed by all the (usually well-meaning) opinions, but we want to help inspire and encourage you so that you can feel confident in doing what’s best for your family. We want to be able to help guide you through, what we believe, are the best homeschool curriculum options out there and help you weed out the not so great ones.

So when thinking about curriculum, it’s helpful to know what your style of homeschooling is. What are your tendencies? What are you drawn to as a homeschooling parent? Here’s just a few reasons why it’s helpful to know your homeschooling type:

Before we get started, I think it’s important to point out that just because our quiz identified you as a certain type of homeschooler, that does NOT mean you have to be “stuck” there for all eternity . . . especially if it’s not working well for your family. There are no “Homeschool Philosophy Police.” This quiz is meant to identify your tendency and what you’re drawn to as a homeschooling parent. It’s meant to be a guide and a starting point.

Many homeschoolers usually fall in between 2 or 3 types of homeschooling philosophies. So allow this to be a guide for you and if you find curriculum you love but it’s in another style . . . Great! Give it a try! That is the beauty of homeschooling! You have the ability to be flexible, to choose what works best for your family, and pivot when something isn’t working.
